The Trauma Recovery Skills Group: Building Your Countervortex is a Waitlist Only therapy group guided by clinical health psychologist Dr. Kimberly Sogge C.Psych. (Somatic Experiencing Institute Advanced; Internal Family Systems Institute Level I; Somatic IFS Level I)

This confidential, closed therapy group offers skills and practice for those who are building the courage, resources, and compassion to heal from intergenerational trauma, early life developmental trauma, medical trauma, or prolonged exposure to trauma from war, climate events, structural inequities or occupational stress.

This group offers participants a safe, confidential trauma sensitive environment for healing facilitated by registered health care professionals with specific training and supervision in somatic psychotherapy techniques and cutting edge treatments for trauma including IFS and PE.

  • Improved Self-attunement
  • Enhanced interoception
  • Breathwork practices for trauma recovery
  • Recognition of alerting and orienting responses in your own body
  • Greater awareness and attunement to your own somatic boundaries and needs for safety
  • Greater understanding of the Fight/Flight/Flee/Fawn and Collapse responses in your own body
  • Improved Awareness of your own coupling dynamics
  • Better understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of common trauma adaptation responses
  • Enhanced Regulatory capacity and greater safeness and confidence in your own nervous system
  • Deepened understanding of your own unique trauma based management strategies
  • Greater empowerment in responding rather than reacting to trauma vortices in your own system
  • Greater freedom from reactivity to trauma activation in others’ systems
  • Somatic strategies that allow you access to a broader and deeper range of emotions in yourself and others
  • Greater capacity to create and tolerate true joy, happiness and pleasure

Skills learned in the Trauma Skills Recovery group are drawn from Somatic Experiencing, IFS, Somatic IFS and Dr. Sogge’s 30+ years of clinical experience working with survivors of abuse and neglect, survivors of medical trauma, overstressed high performers, combat veterans, frontline physicians, tactical officers, detective, firefighters, and noble hearts in both the USA and Canada.

Who:

Those who recognize trauma responses in their nervous system, Members must be substance free and adherent to any medical recommendations for their diagnosed conditions at the time of starting the group.

When

Group start date and time will be announced when all group applications have been completed and have passed initial screening.

This group will run 8 months of the year, with time off in December and June, July, August.

This group will run continuously on a semester to semester basis, with enrollment only opening every three months; current members must reapply with the recommendation of group facilitators to continue beyond their first semester.

Cost

$1200 per semester
